Indian Army Strikes Back Against Pakistan's Unprovoked Firing
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), India - On April 29 (ANI): The Indian Army has adequately addressed the Pakistani Army's unjustified gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) LoC On the night of April 28-29, in regions facing Kupwara and Baramulla districts along with the Akhnoor sector in Jammu and Kashmir (J-K), authorities reported this occurrence.
According to the Indian Army The Indian forces reacted quickly and efficiently to the unexpected gunfire from the Pakistani Army using light weapons.
It marks five continuous days of strained ties between India and Pakistan following the latter's army's unprovoked gunfire with small arms overnight from the 25th to the 26th.
Earlier, the Indian Army responded appropriately to the Pakistan Army's shelling along the LoC On the night of April 27-28, in regions facing Kupwara and Poonch districts, according to officials.
Tensions continue to be elevated along the LoC Even as security forces stepped up counter-terrorism efforts in the Kashmir Valley following the Phalgam terrorist attack, which resulted in 26 fatalities on April 22.
In the meantime, early Monday morning, the Jammu and Kashmir police conducted searches at 13 sites within the Doda district with the aim of dismantling terrorist hideouts and taking measures against those associated with terrorism.
Previously, the Srinagar Police carried out raids at various sites within the area, targeting the homes of individuals associated with banned militant groups. These operations were part of an ongoing probe under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), aimed at dismantling support networks for terrorism.
Based on information from law enforcement statements, they have carried out search operations at the homes of individuals including Javid Ahmad Najar, Adil Ahmad Sofi, Shabir Ahmad Ganie, Sheikh Faisal Rashid, Momin Javari Gojri, Rayees Ahmad Najar, Mubashir Rashid, Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Burhan Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Dar, Umer Hamid Sheikh, who is currently under Public Safety Act (PSA); as well as Ilyas Ahmad Sangeen, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Tawous Ahmad Gadda, Junaid Ahmad Parry, Mehraj Ud Din Khan, Musavir Nabi Bhat, Arash Koul, Shakir Farooq Bhat, Bashrat Ahmad Bazaz also held under PSA; Furqan Nazir, Zulafkar Ahmad Najar, Momin Ahmad Sheikh, Qasir Altaf Hakeem, Manzoor Ahmad Danposh, Sajad Ahmad Gilkar, Ashiq Hussain Rangrez, Aqib Lateef Wani, Farooq Ahmad Wani, Syed Ahmad Parimoo, Syed Asrar Qardi, Jasia Nazir, and Bashir Sultan Bhat.
The search operations were carried out following appropriate legal protocols, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and impartial observers, all under the oversight of J-K Police officials.
The operations were conducted to confiscate weapons, documents, electronic devices, among others, aiming at collecting evidence and gathering intelligence to identify and prevent any subversive or terrorist actions threatening national security. (ANI)
