By Emmanuel Gamson

Secondi (W/R), April 1, GNA - Mr. Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, encouraged Muslims to maintain the spiritual advantages of fasting during Ramadan and keep promoting peace and unity, striving for an environment where everyone feels included and respected.

He spoke at the Sekondi Methodist Park, joining the Muslim community to observe Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the conclusion of Ramadan.

Mr. Nelson stated, "Let the virtues of Ramadan stay with us all year long, and may we cherish the teachings of abstinence as we continue to coexist peacefully amongst each other, irrespective of our religious beliefs."

Through this action, we will create a more unified and tranquil country.

He likewise praised the Muslim community for their ongoing contributions towards maintaining the nation's peace and stability.

Mr. Armah Blay Nyameke, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, extended his congratulations to the Muslims in the constituency on successfully concluding their fasting period, stating, "We recognize the importance and intent behind this observance."

He went on: "Our fasting serves to fortify our unity, foster tranquility, and primarily safeguard and cater to the well-being of our community in Sekondi. Therefore, I extend my gratitude once more for your dedication and devotion."

In the meantime, he disclosed that arrangements were being made to establish the Islamic clinic in Sekondi ZONGO, which was one of his promises during the 2024 electoral campaign.

The Member of Parliament stated: "My dedication lies in enhancing the healthcare facilities and delivering superior medical services within our constituency."

As I pledged during my election campaign, substantial advancements have been achieved in constructing the Sekondi health center, which is almost finished.

Mr. Nyameke stated that efforts were underway to construct an additional maternity ward aimed at serving the women of the Sekondi ZONGO neighborhood, ensuring their accessibility to superior health care facilities.

"I remain optimistic that these initiatives will wrap up by the close of this year, and I am looking forward to witnessing the beneficial effects they will bring to our community," he said.

Sheikh Suleiman Ahmed Mozu, the Western Regional Chief Imam, offered a prayer for both the Regional Minister and the nation as a whole.

Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr to show their appreciation to Allah for the blessings of Ramadan and exhibit kindness by donating to those less fortunate in society.

This is a moment when families and communities should unite, reinforce their connections, and partake in banquets, exchanges of presents, and merrymaking to mark a feeling of achievement following a period of abstinence and religious dedication.
