Trans Nzoia - Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has cautioned President William Ruto that his behavior could distance him from ODM leader Raila Odinga.

On Friday, March 28, during the inauguration of a new four-story building with 12 classrooms at Tuwan Primary School in Tuwan Ward, the Member of Parliament criticized President Ruto's leadership.

The candid legislator asserted that many lawmakers were intimidated by Ruto and lacked the courage to inform him about the true state of affairs in the nation.

Amisi stood firm in defending his actions, asserting that engaging with those in power didn’t imply he was challenging President Ruto’s leadership.

The legislator cautioned the president that if he keeps steering Kenya down the wrong road, Raila could abandon him.

"At present, all Members of Parliament seem to be lacking courage; they tend to cower when faced with William Ruto. Voicing criticism against William Ruto doesn’t imply disrespect towards him. Should the President deviate from what’s right, one should address him saying, 'Mr President, you’ve strayed.' Currently, we’re conveying to William Ruto that his leadership is steering the country in the wrong direction. Also, remember that the person referred to as ‘Baba’ could abandon you anytime,” Amisi pointed out.

Amisi criticizes Kenya Kwanza regarding fatalities in Haiti

The member of parliament also noted with shock the deaths of Kenyan police officers serving in the current international operation in Haiti.

Amisi cited the recent murder of a Kenyan law enforcement officer following an attack by criminal groups in Haiti, stating that the true details of the incident were being withheld from the public in Kenya.

The member of parliament noted that it's only reasonable for the safety of Kenyan police officers in Haiti to be ensured as they strive to maintain law and order in the Caribbean country.

"Policemen are losing their lives in Haiti, yet the full truth remains undisclosed. Law enforcement personnel are being apprehended by criminal elements and subsequently murdered. We urge President William Ruto to understand that abandoning our citizens to foreign countries without guaranteeing their safety is unacceptable," he emphasized.
